shannon and kurt had a care-free wedding at runnymede plantation, so much so that shannon and her dad even stopped for a quick drink on the way down the aisle alison mcmaster, jacqueline lawrence, and sara york grimshaw combined to create a stunning space with a rustic chic feel. fork provided delicious eats (including an outstanding bbq served in a mason jar!). mr potato head took over the music from the plantation singers as twilight fell, and the ancient live oak tree glistened from the candlelit lanterns. we wish shannon and kurt many more relaxing evenings in their years together!

we are unbelievably excited to see the hornets are returning to charlotte, nc. who doesn’t remember the amazing muggsy bogues, the awesome purple and teal colors, and of course hugo! …and SUPER hugo! we have been waiting for this to happen for quite some time, and we even have our old skool hornets gear ready to go. bring it on charlotte hornets, we’ll see you at the hive!

we always love having an engagement session with our wedding couples. it allows us the chance to get to know you a little better, and also gives you an opportunity to get to know us. most people have not been in front of the camera too many times before, so it is a great way to start to feel comfortable having your photo taken before your big day. lauren and josh were so much fun, and it was wonderful being able to incorporate the cistern and downtown charleston in to their session. we LOVE when couples bring along their furry friends, and sullivan truly made the portrait session. what an adorable pup! we photographed lauren and josh’s wedding this spring at lowndes grove plantation and sullivan made the perfect ring bearer:) they also wanted a photo in front of the american theater marquee for their save-the-date invitations. we worked this photo in at the end of the session, and the invitations turned out great!

jenni and pete tied the knot (quite literally) underneath the large oak tree at the magnolia plantation carriage house. their reception featured jenni reading from the poem “i like you” by sandol stoddard warburg, and pete leading a backstreet boys serenade. we wish jenni and pete (and their pet bunny rabbit) a lifetime of fun and happiness!

we met michelle + kevin over a year ago, and they are just the sweetest couple! we always ask our couples to fill out a “getting to know you” questionnaire similar to what we have on our about us page, and this is what they said when we asked them to describe each other in 3 words or less…
kevin: young at heart
michelle: always there 4 me (according to kevin that only counts as 3 words because the “4″ is a number:))
both of these statements are spot on, and we know that michelle + kevin are in store for a wonderful new adventure together as husband and wife. they had their wedding at trinity united methodist church in downtown charleston, and followed with a reception at the breathtaking lowndes grove plantation. michelle’s sister, karla, and haley with patrick properties made michelle + kevin’s dream wedding a reality. they started the evening with cocktails on the front lawn and then moved to a seated dinner at farm tables dressed in lace and dripping candles surrounded by gold and coral accents. Immediately following dinner, the group moved to the dance floor and lounge area where everyone celebrated underneath the oaks overlooking the ashley river. it was a stunning event, and we wish michelle + kevin many more days filled with happiness and celebration of each other.
