lauren and kit met at wofford during lauren’s graduation, and their friendship was sealed over a riveting game of beer pong. after spending some time dating long distance, they moved to the same city and got engaged. until recently, lauren’s grandparents lived on kiawah island, so it holds a special place in her heart. they decided it would make the perfect spot to celebrate their wedding weekend. since their wedding took place at the river course, we decided to head over to cassique country club and mingo point for their engagement session. they braved the chilly weather, and it was well worth it!
this happy couple held their wedding at brays island plantation in sheldon south carolina. when we met alex and chris for their engagement portrait session it was our first time checking out the property. with all of the huge live oaks, spanish moss, horses and a breath-taking view of the harbor river makes you wonder how anyone can ever leave.
in case you couldn’t tell, katie and reid are awesome. we headed out to the morris lighthouse area on folly beach for their engagement session, and had a spectacular time. we cannot wait for their wedding coming up in a couple weeks at boone hall plantation.
we just can’t stop thinking about warmer weather and fresh flowers popping up everywhere. jonathan contacted us prior to his trip down to charleston south carolina where he planned to propose to his girlfriend. they were going to be vacationing with her family, and he wanted to surprise her with a proposal and follow it up with an engagement and family portrait session—how sweet is that! we met the happy and newly engaged couple in downtown charleston south carolina, and walked our way over to white point gardens where we met up with her family. from there, we took some portraits of everyone together.
this sweet couple came over from atlanta, georgia for their engagement session in charleston south carolina. they wanted to have two locations for their session, so we decided that isle of palms and downtown charleston would work perfectly for their needs. it turned out to be a beautiful day, and we had a lovely time walking around the beach and the city. we are literally counting down the days to spring!
your wedding day is filled with the most magnificent moments. your closest family and friends are all gathered together in one location to celebrate you. there is a lot of laughter, a few tears, and a whole lot of really FUN times. we documented some pretty spectacular wedding memories in 2014…there was the grandmom that joined the entire wedding party for a swig of fireball immediately following the ceremony, then came franklin, a sweet pup, who spoke up with a timely bark to express his approval of his parents marriage, followed by a couple who exited their ceremony with their classic over-the-head hand clap inspired by marshall and lily on the show “how i met your mother,” and another wedding even had a baby alligator, tortoise and snakes in attendance for their guests to experience live. we hope you enjoy taking a peek at some of our favorite wedding photos from last year, and we cannot wait for what 2015 has to offer.
the beginning of a new year brings lots of newly engaged couples, and our engagement photography season goes in to full swing. we love photographing these happy couples in and around charleston south carolina. we thought we would share this engagement portrait session with you as you hopefully enjoy a long weekend away from work. jennie and greg traveled down to charleston south carolina from new york city for their wedding at the lake house at bulow. they also ventured down for a quick visit before their wedding, and we photographed their engagement session in downtown charleston sc. we had a great time bopping around the streets of downtown, and capturing their fun-loving personality.
we are looking forward to another first comes love engagement portrait photography session in lovely downtown charleston south carolina!
waking up before the sun rises does take a little extra effort, but it is always worth it. every single time we are headed out in the car on our way to a portrait session, we think about how perfectly peaceful the morning feels. you feel as if the eyes of the world are literally opening up simultaneously with yours as the earth is covered in sweet, golden hues. as majestic as these moments are, it is still difficult to pull ones self out of the bed almost two hours before the day has begun to be able to be present for this tranquil time of day. this particular morning in downtown charleston, mother nature threw a whole new twist on the early morning wake-up call. an ethereal fog blanketed the entire sky for over two hours! it was quiet and serene, and nothing short of magnificent.
amanda and whitaker are quite the pair. they are loads of fun, and make each other laugh a lot — which is awesome! we first met them during their engagement portrait session in downtown charleston south carolina, and later photographed their wedding at the governor thomas bennett house. we love the splashes of color amanda incorporated in to her outfits for the portraits. the turquoise and red brightened everything up, and fit perfectly with the colors that fill the streets of downtown charleston sc.
